You may have just registered your child in the best day care facility in Las Vegas, but your job as a parent isn’t done just yet. Sending your child off to a good child care is only the first step. You need to be constantly on your toes to ensure your child is in safe hands and surroundings. Here’s what you can do to accomplish this feat:
1. Communicate
If your baby isn’t old enough to talk, make sure you ask the caregivers everything about their days at the day care. Talk to them about everything related to your child; did they nap properly? Were they cranky? Did they exhibit crude behavior? And so on. Also, make sure you inform them about your end of the partnership –your child is teething or they didn’t have their breakfast. Do it every day, when you drop them off, when you pick them up, and even during the day.
2. Unannounced Visits
The day care facility should know that you haven’t left your child at their disposal. Make unscheduled visits to the facility. It could reveal a lot to you as the parent, what happens on a day-to-day basis. See if the facility does everything they assured you they would do, like changing diapers on time, or serving hygienic healthy food, or dealing the kids with love and affection.
3. Don’t Ignore Your Gut
Parents have the ability to sense when something is not right. Subtle hints by your baby or unusual behavioral changes can point towards possible problems at the day care. Monitor your child for such signs all the time – when you feel there’s something wrong, there’s a substantial chance that things at the day care are not going right. Investigate and follow course.
Being a parent, you are gifted with the natural instinct to look out for your kids no matter how big they grow. Keeping a constant check on their day care facility is just a small part of the whole parenting experience.
